SizewellC Consortium

NuclearJobs is proud to have joined the SizewellC Consortium which is a group of businesses and organisations from across the UK nuclear supply chain that have come together to call on the government to move forward with plans for Sizewell C. As a pre-packed NOAK (nth of a kind) large-scale Nuclear project SZC is aligned to our green economic recovery and goals of net Zero by 2050.

It is believed SZC would be a catalyst for 25,000 Nuclear Jobs during construction along with supporting 70,000 UK Nuclear Supply Chain job opportunities
1000 - 1500 Nuclear apprenticeships and 900 operational Nuclear jobs for up to 60 years! 

Then 3 themes the Consortium are backing are;

BUILT BY BRITAIN

•  A pre-packed British infrastructure project that’s ready to kick start the green economic recovery.
• 70% of Sizewell C’s construction value will go to UK companies.
• Sizewell C will invest an estimated £14bn in the UK economy during its construction and provide vital jobs for those unemployed
• £300 million of the work could be awarded this year if the green light is given in the next few months. 

 POWERING NET ZERO

• Sizewell C will provide always-on low carbon electricity made in Britain. It will help to ensure we have a controlled, stable transition to a low carbon economy.
• Sizewell C’s always-on, clean energy that will underpin the expansion of renewables and by securing the nuclear supply chain can be the gateway to other low carbon technologies like AMRs and SMRs.
• Sizewell C will provide 3.2GW of low-carbon power, supporting 7% of the UK’s energy needs.
• Will power 6 million homes.

LEVELLING UP

• Building Sizewell C will support the levelling up of regional economies across the UK.
• Helping provide 25,000 jobs opportunities and 1,000 apprenticeships across 2,500 companies across the UK.
• Nearly 90% of jobs in the nuclear sector are based outside London and the South East.
