Package: £44,990 - £67,000 (depending on suitability and level of experience)

Roles
We are currently recruiting for several roles across engineering. Below is a brief summary of the different opportunities.
Design - providing design integration and through life support for current and future systems from concept to substantiation, validation & verification and Trials.
Trials - Design, build and fielding of extraordinary engineering tests, underpinning the UKs Nuclear Deterrent using pioneering science and computational methods to substantiate safety and effectiveness. These roles can offer the opportunity to get hands on experience, testing in extreme environments at unique facilities in the UK and abroad.
NTR - Providing Nuclear threat reduction support to the UK government over a wide variety of areas.
Responsibilities:

Provide mentoring to junior engineers
-
Be able to work as part of a team and independently to deliver packages of work as per the customer requirements

Understanding customer requirements and being able to translate these into engineering solutions
Qualification and Education Requirements
A Degree, HND/HNC or an equivalent vocational qualification, in an engineering discipline, with or working towards professional registration.
Experience
-
Experience of successfully managing a team of 7-10 people
-
Proven track record of driving delivery, performance and continuous improvement

Demonstrates a working appreciation of financial and business requirements
Preferred skills
Experience/understanding of any of the following would be advantageous, but not essential as career and role specific training will be given:

Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) including configuration management and quality control

Computer Aided Design (CAD) systems

Engineering drafting to BS8888 with GD&T

Substantiating engineering designs for safety and performance

Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and its limitations

Machine tools and manufacturing processes
-
Additive manufacturing processes and technologies

Static and dynamic environmental testing
-
Material selection and testing
-
Working to British and ISO Standards
-
Technical and management skills including problem solving and decision making
