The role
As a Production Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll join the repair and overhaul section providing a wide range of equipment repair, overhaul, and test services in support of the Royal Navy Submarine and Warship programmes at Devonport, delivering a high-class service to customers through continuous improvement driven by expertise, integrity, teamwork, and creativity.
Day-to-day, you'll process equipment survey reports, identifying and ordering additional materials, sub-contract and labour requirements.
- Provide technical support to bids for new work and Variation Orders (VO) for current work
- Carry out detailed planning of assigned work scope for projects/contracts to enable relevant control documentation to be produced for effective implementation by production group.
- Estimation of work packages including the provision of labour and material estimates.
- Create and maintain job-plans and parts-lists for new and existing equipment within the production system.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.
Essential experience of the Production Engineer
- Knowledge of a wide range of marine mechanical equipment / repair processes.
- Experience in a production environment.
- Electrical/mechanical equipment/systems.
- Use of databases and IT systems.
- Report writing and delivery.
Qualifications for the Production Engineer
- ONC or equivalent in engineering discipline or demonstrable equivalent technical experience.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
