Let us introduce the role
AWE is currently recruiting for a NTR Operations Technician within the NTR Operational Support Team.
This team maintain and provide the various assets used by the offsite response - equipment, detectors, sources, vehicles, secure communications and the responders.
The offsite response will deploy to live incidents and work with partner agencies to resolve emergency situations or support investigations. Our prompt and effective contribution is critical to public safety, protection of property and national security. This team also support training and exercises.
This particular role sits within the Operational Readiness Team which forms part of the Operational Support Team and will include responsibility for the maintenance of detection equipment, radioactive sources and other related tasks.

This role is ideally suited to someone who has managed and maintained equipment, and has attention to detail.

- Proven organisational skills to actively manage schedules to meet demand
- An ability to adapt to short notice changes

This role will require travel around the UK and occasionally abroad.

- You will need to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role. This will be funded by AWE. The nature of our work does mean you need to be a British Citizen who has been resident in the UK for the past 5 years in order to apply for SC clearance and 10 years for DV.
